Hampshire Music Service is a Lead Music Hub nationally. As pupils at a Hampshire school, your children have opportunities available to them which are simply not afforded to children in other parts of the country. As well as receiving instrumental tuition, there are numerous opportunities for ensemble playing and enrichment in the local area.

Currently, HMS offers lessons for flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, cello & guitar, but others are possible if there is adequate demand. Please enquire. Lessons are run during the school day.

It is dependent on the number of children who receive lessons, but the cost of music lessons with Hampshire Music Service is in the region of £7 for 20 minutes. The “going rate” for private music lessons is currently in the region of £25 for half an hour, so this represents incredible value for money.

As a school, we have to employ a music teacher for the year and so we do require up-front payment for the whole year’s tuition. We understand that this is a very significant outlay, but we ask you to keep in mind the value overall.
