Foxhills Infant School hosted the second Annual Football Tournaments for Year 2 pupils in the New Forest and Hampshire Schools. After the success from last year's tournaments, this year was even more of success, with 7 teams competing in the girl's tournament and 16 teams competing in the boy's tournament!
Foxhills Girls did fantastically well, Winning 2 games and drawing 1, therefore winning their group! However, a loss in the semi-final meant that they competed for the 3rd/4th playoff, and after extra time a goal conceded with the last kick of the game meant the girls finished 4th overall.
Foxhills Boys entered 2 teams into the competition; Team Won 1, Drew 1 and lost 1 which meant they finished 2nd in their group, narrowly missing out on qualification for the semi-finals! Team A however, won all 3 games, meaning they finished top of their group! Unfortunately they could not exceeed the efforts of the girls, losing 1-0 in the semi-final, and with the teams still even after extra time in the 3rd/4th playoff Foxhills lost on 'sudden death' penalties.
A big thank you goes out to Rob Crocker from the School Sports Partnership and the Sports Leaders from Testwood Sports College for coordinating the event on the day and the Foxhills PTA for providing refreshments for the very thirsty players!
